TOEFL Essay Topic 131 - Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Only people who earn a lot of money are successful. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
What is the success?
In our times, generally, more a person is rich, and more is important. But is not always true. A lot of people, like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg or Steve Jobs have started with nothing more than few dollars, and now are billionaires and the most important people in our society.
This could be a valid example of how to become a successful man: earn a lot of money. But the money is not all. The money is only a consequence of the success, that everyone could accept and use, or simply refuse, or also donate to charity.
For this, we can take a lot of examples of people that have certainly more success than the rich, but are ( or were ) very poor, compared do them, like Mahatma Gandhi or Nelson Mandela. People that have made more than each other, but remained poor, donating or refusing the money.
In conclusion, a man of success could be rich, but is a big mistake to consider the only successful people the rich, success is not a credit card, a big bank account or a big house, success is write your name in the human’s history.
