We get grades after each test at school. Then whether the grades encourage students to learn? In my point of view, grades encourage the students to learn. Among countless factors that influence the choice, there are two conspicuous aspects as follows.

The main reason for my propensity is that grades often tell students how they are going with their study. So, the students could get something about their study through grades, to be more exactly, tests. For instance, if they get A this time, they will know that they master the knowledge their teachers taught them, at least those in the test paper. If they get C instead, they will find out that they are still lack of something. Thus they may make up for those things after class and do better work next time. Since everyone wants to be successful, grades are sometimes a mark. So the will to be successful helps the students to try to be good. From above, we can see that grades encourage students to learn.

The second reason that can be seen by everyone is grades introduce competition to the students. As we all know, our world is full of competitions. Everyone who wants to live a good life should compete with others. Grades in a class often show the competition of the future world that the students must face with to some extent. So, to learn more hardly will help them to be stronger in the future competition. Thus, grades encourage the students to learn.

In a word, grades show students how they learn and stimulate them to learn well. Taking into account of these factors, we may reach the conclusion that grades encourage the students to learn.
