Is it true that tradition and modernization are incompatible? Is it not possible for people to adopt both at once? Although modernization has changed the thinking style of the people, we can't neglect all tradition on the name of modernization. Some tradition like respecting elder people are still practice in the modern world which indicates modernization and tradition can be practiced at once.
With advent of technology people are becoming more advanced and developing iconoclastic belief towards the some tradition. It is good to neglect the dogmatic tradition. Further, the tradition which gives the feeling of inequality among the people should be ridicule.However, there are some tradition which helps to prevent the humanity. Consider, for instance, the faith of all of the religion that if we do the evil then we will have to suffer the result of our evil doing after our death prevent most of the people from doing wrong acts. This type of tradition can be practice simultaneously with modernization.
Actually, the harmony in our society exist because of the tradition. Consider, for example, if there was no tradition to invite the neighbors in some sort of ---say wedding party---ceremony then we don't have develop feeling of friendship among the members of the community. Additionally, it is due to tradition that people shares their happiness and sorrow with each other. If modernization is practiced by neglecting benign tradition then the harmony of the society could be disturbed and imagine what will be the condition of the society.
In conclusion, bad tradition ---such as racism---should be abolished with modernization ,but we should not forget the benign tradition, which helps to foster the harmony of the society, in the name of modernization.
