To facilitate the learning of those students in our school, choosing computers is definitely a better decision than books. There are three fundamental reasons: computers shares multi-functional uses, their uses are long lasting, and they can do what books can and more.
As we all know, computers can have a variety of applications. We can do word processing on them. We can even do some complicated statistical analysis or computer graphic on them. Moreover, we can learn various knowledge or enhance our language skills through some specific CD-ROMs or some websites in Internet. With the help of computer, I am sure that our pace of learning will be greatly enhanced and many learning barriers be surmounted.
On the other hand, books seem to be got outdated easily. In our modern society, knowledge and information come and renew themselves very quickly. Yesterdays latest inventions may be no longer interesting tomorrow as some other new discoveries has been made today. Unlike books, computers do not have such shortcoming. Through Internet, we can get the latest information or news fast and cheaply. In order to keep in touch with our world, computers are a better tool than books.
The last point is computers can replace books nearly in all aspects. As for delivering information, computer can totally do what books can. If one does not like to look at a screen, one can print out those relevant pages. In this sense, computer even preserves our environment by reducing the unnecessary use of paper. As I have mentioned in the second paragraph, computer can have some other uses while books cannot.
In conclusion, facing limited resource, purchasing computers will benefit more for students learning than books.
