There is a opinion that the nation should require all its students to study the same national curriculum rather than let schools decide which academic courses to offer. Some people my agree with it, while the others may not. It is clear, in my mind, that complete acceptance or complete opposition is ex parte at the thought. The best way to solve this argument is to combine these two kinds of people`s viewpoints, and to allow schools to determine part of their courses-while also require all the students to study some national curriculum.
Firstly, some national curriculum which must be held are helpful for the students to comprehend the history of the nation and inherit the cultural tradition which is the invaluable experience of the ancestors. An old proverb says that experience teaches, experience does it. With the assistance of these precious creatures, we are not only able to understand the present world, but also program a brilliant future.
But, education is a free and creative job, which will lose its agility without characteristics. We have noticed that students in a school without peculiar courses, but just only the national curriculum, lack vigour and imagination. To avoid this situation, constructing a free and creative environment is the best way. As an addition to students` main objects, some peculiar courses not only broaden students’ knowledge, but also build their ideation.
So from the above analysis, a conclusion can be made that leaving schools in different parts of the nation to determine whether they should offer some special courses is a good idea, but some national curriculum cannot be missed out.
