There has no standard, universal definition of success. Under different times and cultures, people have different intepretation of success. In today`s society, money is a common measure used to judge how people success. If money could only be accumulated through the legal procedure — even we know the unperfection of our legal system, it`s pretty fair to use money to measure people`s success. But remember the reality is totally different. Further, we have to ask ourselves one question, "Why we make money? support family, support my life? help others? A reward from my hard work?" It is ridiculous without right answer of this question to bind the success and money together. And we often praise people since they contributed something very unique, very special to our society or to some group of people. A successful teacher might teach student like Abraham Lincoln. But he never went to the school. A success president like Abrahm Lincoln deprecated the slavery system in United States. While a success business man expanded his business to a new level, made more profits.
So money is a measure to judge the success. But definitely it is not a sole one and should not be the most important one. From my point of view, success is beautiful word which is used to praise people who make contribution to it`s times, to it`s society, to it`s nation while no harm to other nations.
