Someone think that it is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. As far as I am concerned, I disagree with that. I believe big city creates a more suitable environment for children to grow up. I would explore a few examples listed as follows.
In the first place, in the big city, there are more facilities that benefit childrens growing, such as zoo, museums, libraries, amusement parks and so on. In the zoo, children can see animal from different places, thus know how to protect them and take care of them. In the museums, children will know more about what they are interested in and broad their views a lot. They complement the knowledge teacher teach in the class. At libraries, children could find books they want to read, thus they get to know how to learn by themselves. And in the amusement parks, children could play as much as they like. These are all necessities for children to grow up. But countryside is lack of these facilities.
In the second place, big city holds a lot of people in it, thus makes children learn how to deal with people from the beginning. The ability to communicate is much too important for the children. They will find it useful in the future. And also because of the great number of people in the city, children in it meet competition earlier than those in the countryside. So, they may prepare themselves well before they come to the society when they are grown up. Countrysides life is so easeful that they may be nervous when they face to the competition.
Although I agree that there may be couple of disadvantage to grow up in the big city. I feel that the advantages are more obvious. Given the factors I have just outlined, we may reach the conclusion that it is better for children to grow up in a big city than in the countryside.
