In the view of different aspects which a leader should have to be an eligible person, the most important one is to listen to people's ideas and yield to public opinions instead of committing to particular principles which may be in the opposition to the requests of people. Therefore, my point of view is parallel to the first viewpoint of the statement due to the various reasons.
The leader of a community is not someone who usurps the power from the majority of the people, anymore. In fact, most modern societies are selecting a person as a leader to reach their goals. Therefore, the leader of a community who is a simple member of a community without supports of the people needs to have their supports and because of this should listen to their opinions and ideas. A leader alone is a part of a whole which is the society and a part cannot make a big difference in reaching to objectives. Hence, listening to people's ideas and yielding to them would be a guaranty for a leader to access the acme of his career by approaching people's to their national objectives. Assume a leader who is working for people, but not counting people's opinions, how could this kind of leader to access his objectives without considering the society's requests?
Moreover, adhering to particular principles and objectives will result in the avoidance of being among society and, in the long run, the leader will become a dictator who thinks his criteria is more important than the society ones. As a result, the power will become exclusively in the hands of one person and his objectives will be changed to be more vital than society's objectives. In the contradiction, if a leader listens to the people's opinions, his behavior will encourage people to believe in him and vote for his establishment or organization to decide for various stages of people's life. Hence, it is not so good for a leader to be a dictator who is in the contradiction to his nation, someone who his people want to regain the power from his hands.
Furthermore, by yielding to people's opinions, the leader can have a great source of information from the society and the powerful support will help the leader to reach the objectives in shorter periods of time. As an example, consider the leader of North Korea who isn't counting people's opinion and his people are always complaining about him. Also, he has enemies behind his country's borders without any support; therefore, his power is weakening because of his adherence to his personal principles. In the opposition, the leader of the Switzerland is a person who yields to people's opinion and as a result, people are supporting him and helping to make a better land.
In sum, my point of view is as the first viewpoint which is mentioned in the statement that by yielding to people's opinion and considering democracy, the leader can be successful, powerful and a reliable backup for people to have a great society.Read more
