A Great Nation – its people or its achievers?

Can a nation be regarded as a great nation only on the basis of the achievements of a handful of people or does it depend on only the prosperity and happiness of the people? It is clearly evident that discontent among the people disintegrates a nation. Therefore, general well-fare of the people is the best indicator of the greatness of a nation.

Imagination is the creative faculty of the mind. Imagination has no limits and is not constrained by any established conventions. On the other hand experience is the knowledge we gain through the course of time in our life. But is an imagination more valuable than experience? I do not agree with claim completely.
