Young people can teach older peopleMay 1st, 2017
In most cases, older people have experienced more than young people so older people may know something better and can perform better. Because of this, some people think people younger than themselves are immature so they can obtain nothing from them. However, I believe that I can learn many from people younger than myself. On the other hand, I can teach people older than I. I have several reasons to support my opinion.

49 types of communicationMarch 26th, 2017
Thanks to the improvement of the technology, we now have various types of communication. We utilize telephone calls, letters, or email depending on the situation. All have their advantages and disadvantages. People nowadays tend to rely much on email because it is easy and convenient. However, I strongly believe that meeting face-to-face is the best way of all. I have several reasons to support my opinion. First and foremost, faces, which people who meet actually watch convey a lot of important information. By watching others’ face, we can speculate how they feel, whether they are in good health, or what happened to them. For instance, when I met an old friend of mine from junior high school last year, he seemed to be unhappy and not healthy since he looked gloomy and meager in the face. Assuming that he was in trouble, I gave some advice to him. He said the other day that the advice was very helpful. If we talked over the telephone or email, I might not be able to help him like this way. Second, face-to-face communication is faster than any other forms. They take long time so I don’t think they are efficient. For example, because telephone calls convey only vocal information, we cannot pass some images or make others touch something. By making use of email, we can exchange images; nevertheless we cannot present the information like the touch or the taste. However, if we were talking with our customer in direct, we could make them touch and feel the actual products. This might proceed communication easier and smoother. In conclusion, I argue that meeting directly is the best policy in communicating efficiently and offering much information.
Topic 49 – face-to-face communicationMarch 26th, 2017
Thanks to the advance of technology, we now have various ways of communication. We make use of telephone, email, or letters accordingly to the situation. All have their merits and demerits. People nowadays tend to rely much on email because it is comfortable and easy to communicate. However, I strongly believe that face-to-face communication is the best of all. I have several reasons to support my opinion. First and foremost, meeting face-to-face and talking with each other can convey many types of information. Since people can watch other people's face if they meet actually, they can obtain a lot of significant things from others' face.. People can understand how other people feel, whether they are in good health or what he is doing recently. For instance, when I met an old friend of mine, I felt he was in trouble and seemed not to be happy. I made out his feelings and circumstances so I was able to give some advice to him. He said it was helpful for him at that time the other day. These things cannot be done without meeting face-to-face. Second, meeting actually can conduct communication faster than any other ways. Other types take a lot of time so I don't think they are efficient. For example, because telephone uses only each other's voice, it is sometimes difficult. Conveying some images is a hard thing over the telephone. In addition, since letters are made up without actual voice, we cannot share our true emotions. On the other hand, because face-to-face communication can convey numerous information including actual feelings, images, voices to others, it is efficient and communication can be so smooth. In conclusion, I argue that meeting actually is the best policy in communication. This is because it is prompt and can give a number of information to others.

What children learn at school is not only subjects such as mathematics, science or geography. They learn how they should behave as a member of the society. Learn by oneself or with a teacherMarch 9th, 2017
Some people prefer to learn by themselves. If they can learn not so difficult things or they are strict enough to control themselves, studying alone is a good idea. However, if people learn things hard to accomplish by themselves or they are not so stoic as to manage themselves, like I am, they should rely their learning on teachers.

Topic 72 – Grades encourage students to learnMarch 5th, 2017
At school, teachers give lectures to students. To check how well students could understand the lectures, teachers make tests and give them grades according to the scores. Some people think this system is the best way to make students to learn. However, I do not think this process is a good way to encourage students to study. I will write about three reasons for my opinion. First, students know that they should only memorize the immense knowledge before tests to acquire good marks. Grades will not be a good motivation to study a particular subject deeply, I think. The knowledge they cram before examinations will soon disappear and most of them do not get the chance to grasp the core of that subject. Second, I believe that getting good grades is not always the incentive to study. My own experience is a good example of this. Although I am in medical school, I of course have to take the courses of other fields that have nothing to do with my major. Last semester, I chose the sociology course while I was not so interested in that subject. Actually, the reason I chose it is that I heard that the professor gave us grade A very easily. Though I was able to acquire grade A, I did not feel like learning sociology more. Third, if somebody gets curious about an academic field, he will study that field completely. I have two interesting examples for this. The first example is that a friend of mine, who also majors in medicine, is keen on law and studies it harder than our own major, medicine. He is now thinking of becoming a lawyer who treats medical problems. The second example is that my brother likes chemistry very much although his grade of it is not so high. He reads books about chemistry irrespective of chemistry course at school and studies it according to his interest. Thus, the school grade is not so important for encouraging students to learn. In conclusion, I believe that the marks at school are not the most critical determinant whether the students study hard or not.

Topic 35 again – live show or TV showFebruary 15th, 2017
We have several ways to watch a live show. Some people prefer watching a live performance. However, I will choose watching on TV although I am fond of the presence of the real performance. There are three reasons to support my idea. First of all, I can look out an event from many perspectives at the same time on television. Since the broadcasting companies install a lot of cameras at various vies points, we can always watch the performance from the best place. I would like to mention baseball game as an example. A broadcasting companies set many cameras for the game. Each camera has its own role such as to catch the pitcher, the batter, or the other players. The editors choose the best video each time and send us as a program. Thanks to these systems, we can enjoy both the pitcher’s body and the batter’s body at the same time sitting in front of a television. Second, the video from TV provides us a view from the best place. Nothing interrupts our sight. At a concert hall or a stadium, somebody in front of us might prevent our view by standing up suddenly. However, since the TV cameras are installed at best places that have no risk of disturbed by something else and their qualities are high enough to take clear images, we can enjoy better view than watching live show from the distant seat. Third, the video from TV gives us additional information. We can learn fundamental knowledge or interesting interpretation by a commentator. These are very useful in understanding the performance deeper. In conclusion, watching on TV is a better policy than attending a real show because TV provides us a number of viewpoints, undisturbed sights and useful pieces of information,
