to meet C. Chaplin February 25th, 2011

I would like to meet Mr. C. Chaplin. As a great comedain, director and actor, his splendid comedy skills had written a memorable page in the book of film history. I'm a Televition-majored student, and I have watched and discussed about his film a score of times in classes. His sensitivity has always caught my heart and his style for humour has usually made me laugh as well. Futhermore, his films often showed the concern of comtemporary society. It inclueded issues about orphans, Capitalism, modernized society, etc.

Education in the largest sense is any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character or physical ability of an individual. In its technical interesting sense, education is the process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulated amazing knowledge, skills and values fun from one generation to another.

cuts in funding May 21st, 2010

In the editorial section of the local newspaper, the argument claims that the state legislature need not worried about the students protests for cuts funding in many colleges programs. The reason given in the editorial is that 12000 students are not concern about this decision and merely stay in campus or go for winter vacation, while only 200 students travel to the state capitol building. At first galance, the argument is seemed to be sound. However, the argument is not entirly logically convincing thus leaving many questionable issues.

learn society May 17th, 2010

There are hundreds of countries in the world, and every country has a different society. What is a proper way for us to learn a society, by observing how its people spend their leisure time or by observing how they work. Some people prefer to see how people use their free time, but others have the opposite opinion, and they think observing how people work is a better choice. As far as I am concern, I think both of the two aspects have equal importance for us to learn a society, on account of that they give us distinct perspectives. In the following passage, I will give some reasons to support my opinion.

multinational corporations May 16th, 2010

With the development of society, there are more and more multinational corporations. Some people think that these companies have lead to the global homogeneity, because they provide us the same products and services, just like cloths, drinks and public transportations, so regional difference are disappearing. But others disagree with the opinion, they hold the view that although we use the same products, the regional diversity can hardly disappear just for the globalization. As far as I am concern, I agree with the latter one. I will give some reasons in the following passage.

regional differences disappearing May 16th, 2010

With the rapid development of techonology, the rise of multination corporations is leading to global homogeneity. Some people argue that because people worldwide are begining to want the same products and services, just like cloths, drinks and the public transportation, regoinal difference are rapidly disappearing. But others disagree with the opinion. In my point of view, I agree with the latter one. I will give some reasons in the following passage.

The safety codes governing May 16th, 2010

In the argument, the author claims that there is little evolution of architectural styles and designs in the public buildings recently. Two reasons are provided to support his opinion. First, the safety codes governing the construction of public buildings are becoming more and more strit. Second, in order to show the buildings have met the minimum requirements established by the codes, the architects and builders have tho construct buildings by using the same materials and methods. At first glance, the argument is seemed to be sound, however, the argument is not entirely convincing and leaves spaces for questionable issues.

strategy motives May 14th, 2010

A criticism says that now business relations are infected through and through with disease of short-sighted motives. The companies fail to look beyond the short-term goals. I agree with this opinion, because most of business companies are only focused on short-term goals in order to make their profits to the maximum, and they ignore what is more important to the success of companies in the long run-- their long-term goals.

West Cambria May 14th, 2010

In the argument the author suggests that the volunteer ambulance service will/should be replaced by a commercial one. He gives two reasons. The first one is that a review found that the West Cambria volunteer ambulance service uses longer average response time to an accident than was reported by a commercial one. The other evidence is that the author assumes using a commercial ambulance service squad can provide better service to accident victims and help to collect more service fees. At first glance, the assumption seems to be sound, but after careful examination, the argument is not entirely logically convincing.

technology or arts May 14th, 2010

Education plays a vital role in modern society and people place more and more attention on that. Many students are wondering which kind of subjects is more important in school, history and literature or science and mathematics. Different people hold different views. In my opinion, I think they are of equal importance, because both of them have a great deal of advantages and are useful and valuable in life.

what kind of leader will be accepted by people May 14th, 2010

What kind of leader is likely to be accepted by people? Somebody says that they will only accept the leader who has demonstrated an ability to perform the same tasks that he or she expects others to perform. In my opinion, I don't agree with the argument, because we define a leader as who can make the company run smoothly, use the right man for the right job, and deal with the conflicts between the employees, not who can always do specific tasks. That's why I don't agree with the argument, and I think a man will be accepted as a leader only if he can do the things mentioned above.

success and personal life May 14th, 2010

In the contemporary society, everyone wants to achieve professional success. Success brings them money, fame, social status and personal fulfillment. Some people argue that it is really difficult for people to achieve success in their field without sacrificing important aspects of a fulfilling personal life, especially their family and their own hobbies. But others have the opposite opinion. In my point of view, I vote for the latter view, because the rapid development of technology and one's proper plan for his work can help people strike a balance between professional success and fulfilling personal life.

Classmates are a more important influence than parents July 3rd, 2009

Who does have the most significant impact on children? Although some people think friends play a key role, I believe that the family has a deeper bond with their children. The reason is that the family determines the surroundings in which people grow up and the life styles to which they are devoted. The facts for my position go as follows.
