Our society is undergoing a tremendous change, As a society we now have more two income families and people spend

Our society is undergoing a tremendous change, As a society we now have more two income families and people spend more time at work than they do at home. It only seems logical that we are influences more by the place we spend time the most.

The American dream of having a house in the suburb with two cars has created long working hours for most. The global economy is also creating a lot of competition where more and more business are now open longer hours increasing the working hours. When one spends so much time at work it is natural that there is almost like a culture to that work place and you get adapted. The perfect example of this is when you are in college and all the people hang out a certain place. And you could always tell who the art major were and who the tech students where.

We humans are social creatures who like to fit and feel a part of a community. Research has shown that the environment we live and work in influence us to a great extent. Another example is that you will see people at higher social class taking up golf, compared to baseball that is more white collar

Most people socialize with people from work and therefore have their own culture that influences them.

To sum, it seems in our nature to be influenced by our surrounding and the place we work and spend the most time seems to be an obvious place for us to emulate and be influenced by.
