Nowadays, more and more people choose traveling during their leisure time. After they travel to a new place, many people visit museums, such as natural museum, art museum, historic museum and so on. Why they go to visit museums? I would explain the reasons as follows.
First, visiting museums can broad peoples views and enlarge peoples knowledge. People who choose to travel are those who want to know more. Thus, going to museums is a key program during their visit to a new place. Take historic museum for example, the exhibition there shows us the history, for instance, what people use to drink 3000 years ago. People see those items on display with their own eyes. Thus they can get lively experience of the knowledge that they have or have not read from books.
Secondly, each places museum shows special thing of that place. People could not see the exhibition any place else. For example, in Egypt, historic museum shows the history of Egypt, meanwhile, historic museum in China shows the history of China. In Beijing, historic museum shows special aspects of Beijing history, while in Shanghai, historic museum shows more of Shanghai history. So, to get better understanding of one place, it is advisable to visit museums there.
Furthermore, museums are of many kinds. There are arts museum, coins museum, music museum, etc. People have many interests too. So, they like to go to the museums that collect the things they are interested in wherever they go.
The above reasons are what I think why many people visit museums when they travel to new places. Of course, there may be some other reasons, but these are the most important ones I believe.
