Books, which have played an important role to help students’ study are no-doubt necessary tools for school life. Having said, however, that if school has enough money, I believe that school should buy the enough computers for students from the following perspective; versatile of computers, and cost burden on students.
Needless to say, the multi-function of computers becomes big supporter for students life. Let’s think about the university students, who have a lot of tasks such as making a report or presentation materials. Obviously, every material is made by computers. Nowadays, university students cannot image the school life without the computers. When I was university student, I used many times the computers installed at University library, which is useful and convenient for us because we can directly go to library and use school PC to make presentation material by using power points or excel as soon as did finished the class which assigned us the group task. From the perspective of convenience of students, a lot of computers prepared in school helps the efficiency of their study.
Second, if the school prepares the computers for students, the cost students have to bear decrease dramatically more than that of book. While we can buy the book by around 20 or 30 dollars, the purchase of computers forecs students to bear more than 100,000 dollars. In my university days, for example, my family did not afford to buy computers for me, and my earning from my intership was around 400 dollars. I was so lucky because my university prepared affluent numbers of computer for students, which did not bother me to make report or presentation material. The situation in which there was not enough computers in schools clearly deteriorated my grade of university, because I would have difficulity in controling my time caused by lack of computers in campus. From the cost burden, school prepares the computers for students rather than does books.
It is no doubt that books are highly important to cultivate students knowledges. Thank to the development of internet technologies, however, we can trace useful information not only from books but also from computers screen. The role of computer today becomes bigger, and accordingly schools should prepare the computers for student instead of preparing books.
From the convenience and cost burden, I believe that schools, without consideration, have to purchase computers rather than books.Read more
