Many changes have taken place in the twentieth century. Among these changes, people’s beginning to use the computer and the Internet impresses me most, because it has changed people’s life style and benefits the scientific research.
First of all, we must admit that the computer and the Internet have changed our life style in some ways. For example, my sister has been abroad for several years. At first, we communicate with each other by letters. Our mailbox always held new letters from my sister in those days. However, after using emails, my email box holds many emails and there are seldom letters in the mailbox outside our home. Now our family is accustomed to expecting her information in the computer. Also, the computer and the Internet affect our entertainments by our surfing the Internet, playing computer games or chatting with people. Therefore, it is easier to see that the computer and the Internet have changed our life style.
Moreover, people are widely using the computer and the Internet in their work, especially in scientific researches. Computers can compute faster and faster than they used to be, which benefits much in high tech fields. Scientists can get an accurate data in much short time with the help of the computer. Furthermore, computer can run the programs that people installed and thus many convenient automatic systems come into being and make our life more convenient.
In the twentieth century, computers and the Internet began to be used It changed people’s living style and are good tools in scientific world. It is one of the greatest changes at that time. Therefore, this change should be remembered above the rest.
