The author states productivity generated by team work is better than individual work. This is a very generalized statement which indicates that all types of work are better done in teams rather than individually.

It is mentioned in the statement above that Teamwork requires cooperation, which motivates people more than individual competition can. Competition does not necessarily motivate people to perform better. There are people who do anything to make others look bad in a team. Understanding and acceptance among team members will help them perform better as a group, else it can be a chaotic group. The team leader must be an influential facilitator, who can help the team organize their action plan and goal to achieve in harmony and without any negative competition.

Not all work can be accomplished in a group. Students tend to study alone as the exams near, as it can be distracting to be studying a part of group.Most creative workers like artists, poets,designers,etc. need solitude to be at their productive best. At the same in the fashion industry, designers have to work together with a team to achieve their goals.

Thus, for a team to work efficiently, there should be an effective leader at the helm who can facilitate positive competition in the group. Productivity can be maximised by working indidviually or in a team depending on the circumstances or type of work. It is upto the team leader to strike a balance between the two, teamwork and individualistic work, to get the best productivity
