In asserting that government should never censor any artistic that might be displayed in a museum, the speaker fails to acknowledge certain unethical arts, in which censoring might be necessary. Nevertheless, I agree with the statement to the extent that artistic works must find its way to museums without intervention from the government.
Artistic works hold one of the greatest values of the society, its collective imagination. The art in general reflected the civilization of a certain society at a given time. On the top of that, the individual innovation and creativeness involved in the aesthetic work must be admired and appreciated. Therefore comes the great importance of ensuring that artistic works have to be published in museums, even if it has contrary with the government point of view. For example, some artistic works might show the fighting for freedom of the people, portraying that government is dictatorship. However, government should allow such work in the sake of achieving the broad picture of acknowledging the creativeness in spite of what form it takes.
Yet there are some exceptional cases, in which government must censor some works. These can include for example, the arts that include much of improper contents such as sexual content, or severe violence. These kind of egregious arts can have a bad effect on a public, especially children who have not to be exposed to such materials. One might argue that any artistic work must not be censored, and it is a personal choice to choose a certain content form another. However, this personal choice must not harm the right of the other people for not seeing such shocking materials in our public museums, and government should maintain this.
In the final analysis, the creativeness of the artistic work must be admired, and the government must allow artistic work have to be published in museums even if it contrast with its interest. However, harmful art materials, such as sexual contents and sever violence have to be mitigated by the government to preserve the people right to not be exposed to such materials
