Conflicts and scandals are an inseparable part of our lives. As a reason can be anything, from political problems to the social lives of celebrities. There is an opinion that scandals help us concentrate on problems that we would never do otherwise. Even though the claim may sound really true, I personally think that there is much more harm than benefit from scandals. My opinion is based on three main circumstances.
First of all, no conflict can ever be useful for the society as always some groups of people suffer as a result. Scandals make people more aggressive towards each other, and no community can better off as a whole. The same is true on international level. Even small conflicts may result in a tense political situation between countries. This is why no matter what we should always try to find peaceful solutions to our problems.
Second, I do not think that people need scandals to get informed about important problems around them. For example, if a country is in a crisis then no scandal is needed to realize that. People's everyday life is more than enough for them to have an understanding about the severeness of the situation. Moreover, in such a case scandals may even worsen everything by resulting in a panic.
Finally, it is more important to solve a problem rather than to proclaim it. Certainly, after a particular scandal people start talking about the premises and the situation more often than ever but they will not necessarily be talking about possible solutions. This is where the role of a true leader in a society becomes tangible. Impressive speakers and reformers are the ones who are able to not only take important decisions but also unite communities and mitigate conflicts.
To sum up, the above mentioned points indicate that scandals are never useful for us, and everything should be done to avoid them.Read more
