I agree with the statement that children should help with the household tasks as soon as they are able to do so. But they should not work all the time because childhood is the only time in ones age, when he has least amount of responsibilities.. I always helped my parents in doing household work, doing so proved beneficial to me. Let me explain my point of view.
First of all, household tasks build skills. Before going to the college, which is away from my home, I used to help my mother in cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry, this made my life easy at college as I am able to cook . During weekend, helping my father with his business, I learnt how to deal with customers. and tackle different type of situations.
Secondly, if we all do our own share of work, family will be happier. My mother and father both are working, they have lot of work to do both at home and office. If we help them with simple tasks such as cleaning our own rooms, putting away our own laundry, and taking our supper at times, they would also get some free time to relax and watch television. They would not feel stressed out and every one will have time for some fun.
Furthermore, children develop the feeling of responsibility by helping parents with household tasks. I was supposed to clean my room before I go outside to play, this taught me how to complete my work within a limited period of time. If parents encourage children by giving them rewards for their help ii the form of taking them for a picnic or ice cream, they can learn how their effort pays off. They may develop into mature, responsible adults.
This easy comes out of my own personal experience. Helping with household tasks developed my skills, made me responsible, and a part of family life.
