Taiwan is a beautiful island located in eastern Asia, and attracting numerous visitor annually for its natural beauty. It usually take more than a week to fully experience the beauty of Taiwan; However, if a foreigner has only one day to visit, I would definitely recommend him spend his precious time in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, for mainly three reasons.
First, foreigners are interested in the culture and history of Taiwan, and spending time in Taipei allows them to know this country in a short time. It is common for foreigner to visit national museums, monuments, and history buildings in order to gain better knowledge about the visiting country. Taipei has a long history of human activities since pre-historical times, and it has become the capital of the island nation since more than 200 years ago. In this way, the city is full of historical buildings and monuments, so the foreigner surely can have a great time enjoying the cultural and historical feast offering by Taiwan.
Secondly, foreign visitors will surely want to experience local food, and paying a visit to Taipei guarantees it. When visiting to a foreign country, almost everyone will try some authentic local food, mostly out of curiosity. Taipei not only has numerous restaurants and local food stands, but also has many nightmarkets, which are special features in Taiwanese culture that people can gather around and having food in the night time. Moreover, Taiwanese food is delicious. So the biggest problem this one-day-Taiwan-trip foreigner will encounter is whether he has a big enough stomach to stuff in all the food he wishing to eat.
Lastly, a one-day traveler surely want to visit a near and convenient place, and it takes only half an hour from the airport to the city center. The hangover time between the flight may be transient, so it is important for the visitor to travel between the airport and the city swiftly and easily. Spending a day in Taipei fulfills this requirement. Moreover, the public transportation system in Taipei is world-known for its cheap and reliable service, so taking a one-day trip to Taipei mitigates problems arising along with transportation.
In conclusion, I would recommend a traveler visiting Taipei if he only have one day to experience the beauty of Taiwan. I believe that a trip to Taipei guarantees both knowledge and physical satisfaction.Read more
