The author claims that restraint in the power impresses people most while others claim that the use of full power will impress people. The assertion provided by the author is a valid on the basis that excessive power leads to total destruction. One must be given a limited amount of power.
Firstly, History provides us with facts where people have use power for the benefit of themselves leading to total destruction. For example, the abuse of power by Hitler that led to the killing of thousands of Jews during World War II. Hitler was so ambitious that he used excessive power and sent out German soldiers to kill all the Jews present in the adjoining countries. This move was criticized by all people from all over the world.
Secondly, When excessive power is used, the basic rights of an individual is curbed.He/She has no freedom of speech, no rights to speak against the ruling government. There has been cases in the past where people were put into prison and treated as traitors when they spoke against the government led by dictators. Agitation is the outcome of such a move and this leads to demonstrations as seen in Libya,Egypt and many middle East countries.
To conclude, People was and will never be impressed when anyone is given excessive rights. Power must be divided into groups and given to certain class of people who can properly exercise the powers.One group will under the purview of the other.In this way we can restrain the amount of power.
