What kind of leader is likely to be accepted by people? Somebody says that they will only accept the leader who has demonstrated an ability to perform the same tasks that he or she expects others to perform. In my opinion, I don't agree with the argument, because we define a leader as who can make the company run smoothly, use the right man for the right job, and deal with the conflicts between the employees, not who can always do specific tasks. That's why I don't agree with the argument, and I think a man will be accepted as a leader only if he can do the things mentioned above.
To begin with, the leader only needs to know who can do the tasks perfectly, but it does not mean that he should have the ability to finish the task by himself. For example, if the machine in the factory is broke down, the leader should merely ask a mechanic to fix it. He needn't to learn how to repair it at all, and he should only emphasize on the core business of the company. On condition that he has the ability to fix the machine, he will be treated as a more competent leader.
Besides, the most important thing for a leader to do is to run the company smoothly. The leader should make a long-term development strategy of the company, adhere to the strategic plans and negotiate with customers to make the company's profits maximum. If the leader fails to do this, the company may be in trouble, so this kind of leader will never be accepted by the employees.
In addition, the leader should deal with the conflicts between the employees. For instance, team members have two different views for a project, and the leader should be decisive enough to avoid too much time on the meeting which just for reaching a consensus. Only in this way, their working efficiency will be improved.
In conclusion, so long as a leader can make a company run smoothly, use the right man for the right job most efficiently and deal with the conflicts between the employees, he will be accepted as a leader. If he has the ability to perform the same tasks that he signs others, he will be accepted as a more authoritative and competent leader.
