The person that I would choose, is certainly Giuseppe Garibaldi. Giuseppe Garibaldi was an Italian solider, that is famous for his campaign in South America and, next, in Italy.

Indeed, in Italy, Garibaldi was the leader of the famous military campaign called “ I mille “. With this campaign, Garibaldi made the Italy an entire and compact country.

In fact, few years first, the Italy was not like today. In its territory, there was a lot of little countries, like Vatican, Venice or Naples, all dominated from not-Italian leaders like Spanish, Greek or French. He was the first that thought, with Camillo Benso, to a united Italy, and with his campaign, he fought against thousands of Spanish and Greek soldiers with only one thousand of soldiers, winning everywhere and making his dream possible.

From the south Italy, he fought going to North Italy, and in Teano, he handed all the territories that had won, to the king of Piemont and Sardinia, Vittorio Emanuele II. In this day, Italy was born. And this, was made possible only for Garibaldi, that for me and for the other Italians, was the most important Italian person of ever.
