Being satisfied with something personally special to us
I disagree with this statement because we can be satisfied with something personally special to us. There are 2 examples of things which we can be satisfied with and from which we won’t want anything different.
First, we can be satisfied with things related to our close people, such as our family or friends. Recently I got a necklace from my boyfriend. This is not made of diamonds, or anything worthy. If I were him, I would have bought another, more expensive ones. However, I was so glad to get it and I wear it every time, even when I sleep, just because I like him so much and I feel so happy to think about how he would buy it or how he would feel when he bought it. I like this present so much that I don’t want any other necklaces, even if I see cute necklaces in shops. I can be satisfied with the necklace because it was given by my boyfriend who I like so much. Generally we can be satisfied with something given by our close people, or even related to them.
Second, we can also be satisfied with something we made for ourselves. When I was a high-school student, I made a little toy of a bear in class. Because I am not good at sowing, I couldn’t make it well and it indeed looks so weird that no friend could even understand what I had made. However I like this weird toy. I hold it whenever I sleep. I say “good morning” to it every morning no matter how sleepy I am. Though I don’t have any other bear-like toys, I don’t want any other one because i know that I will never prefer any other ones to my little bear made by myself, no matter how bad it looks. We can definitely be satisfied with something made by ourselves, such as my toy.
Overall, we can often be satisfied with something as the above. Once we can get it, we never want another one.
