The rise of multinationals is indeed creating an environment of global homogeneity. As the very name suggests, multinational organizations are those which operate in multiple nations. No longer is a product or service restricted to a particular national boundary. Nations across the globe are converging on their tastes and preferences.

I will take the case of few organizations to explain the above statement. Few years ago, each country had its own cars. Depending on what was available in one’s nation, people developed their tastes. In today’s context, if we think of any major automobile giant, none of it is constrained in its country of origin, but rather its models are uniformly available across the globe. Talk of any beauty product, and chances are that if you ask the people across the globe about the brand they prefer, a majority will choose the same brand.

Another way, the MNC’s breed global homogeneity is by the working culture. The people working in these organizations have their thinking aligned to the company’s core values and thus, irrespective of the nation they belong to, their core values’ are homogenous.

I can conclude by saying that the multinationals are bringing the people closer across the globe.
