Cultural homogeneity

I agree with the opinion that multinational corporations do bring people from different region on the same platform thus leading to homogeneity. Generally a corporation follows similar vision and mission of business across its brances. Therefore, corporations’ brances produce the same product and provide similar services irrespective of their global locations. The spread of corporations across continents thus binds the people as they are given similar products for use and they are also exposed to similar set of services.

This trend was remarkably visible when supermarkets similar to those in Western countries opened in Eastern countries. Generally in countries like China, India etc. people go to the market where different things are sold at different locations by local vendors. For example, if a person has to buy grocery for the week, he would have to travel and visit different small shops to buy and assemble all those he wants. But after opening of supermarkets, the same person gets everything under one roof in a trolley. There’s no difference in the way an American would buy his groceries in California with the way a chineses buys the same grocery somewhere in HongKong.

It is a general observation that people tend to behave the same way in similar situations. Residents of different regions when treated same way tend to become like each other.
