There are many things to consider in term of secondary education. Some people think that all university students should take history courses, since everyone could learn from the past. However, as far as I am concerned, I believe that taking history courses is meaningless for most students.
To begin with, taking history classes could increase stress for students who major in science. Undoubtedly, student majors in such as physics spend most of their time for learning theories knowledge and do experiment to support the theories. For example, my roommates, Sam, who studies on the light, always come back in the midnight. Just for the 10 hours experiment processes. Certainly, he feels so tired both in mental and body. It is obvious that if university require Sam to take extra history class, he could be crazy. Hence, as the conversation educators have long been considered, adding too much extra courses could have a significant negative influence for these young adults. So, not everyone needs to taking a history class.
Besides, although many people believe that learn history equate to learn from the past and learn from experience, a recent study shows that it is not correct in most cases. History classes is not as useful as we generally think. The survey of students who are required to taking class shows that 87.3 percent student learning nothing from the history class.“The teacher is so bored, everyone prefers to play iPhone in class”is the common sense among the students. Also, the history courses are designed for student in varies majors, therefore, it is hard for students to find useful information or inspired by some stories.
