Staying at one place
Since the development of transportation makes it easier for people to move from one place to another, an increasing number of people choose to move for different reasons. However, in my opinion, staying in one place would be a better choice.
First of all, staying in a place means convenience. The more time I spend on one place, the more familiar with this place which means I master large amount useful information about one certain place. Specifically, I would know the useful information about transportation, restaurants, local culture and so on. With these useful information, I could save much time spent on searching information. Thus my life is much more convenient than those who newly move to one place. For example, I live in Shanghai for 20 years and I have full information about Shanghai. If I’d like to have a good meal tonight, I would quickly make a list of restaurants serving delicious food. And also, I can avoid the restaurants which provide poor service and bad food. In contrast, those who just move to Shanghai have no idea about the restaurants. Chances are that they spend a lot of money but do not get worthwhile service and good-tasting food. So we can see the convenience brought by staying in one place.
In addition, I can build a good relationship with my neighbors if we stay together in one place for a long time. It usually takes a long time for people to build a good relationship with each other. Because only through a long time can people know about each other very well. If I move to a new place and meet some new neighbor, I do not know whether I can trust them. And then, I would feel lonely because I cannot share my feelings with close friends or family members. However, things would be different if I stay in one place. I am familiar with people around me and I have enough time to know about them and then build good relationships. For example, I met with my best friend, Edward, when we are 6 years old. We spent more than 10 years with each other. As a result, we have a close relationship. And I never feel boring, because I can play with him as long as I want.
Finally, although people may feel excited about moving to a new place which means a new life, they would be disappointed by the reality. They would have to face the difficulties about making new friends, Moreover, they may also find many disadvantages about the new places.
In summary, I think staying in one place is a better choice compared with moving to other places with large uncertainty.
