This is a very flexible topic to argue upon. Both sides of the argument have their own pros and cons, but I would like to argue on that the traditional way of taking class is rather advantageous than disadvantageous. In the following paragraphs, I will be supporting my thesis with some examples and considerations.
First of all, I believe that human relationships are always better than the technologic ones. In my opinion, taking classroom by person helps teachers to transmit more easily the information that they want to communicate. Indeed, I have read some researches on the topic and scientist commonly agree with the idea that this way of teaching it useful to improve the level of attention. So, as a matter of fact, being in class let students be focused on what is happening around them such as professor’s explanations. When I was in high school I was always distracted by anything that was surrounding me, I cannot imagine how my grades will have been if I would have studied at home.
Secondly, I strongly think that students assimilate data quickly if they are in class. So, not only we can say that the oral communication is easier, but also the learning process is facilitated.
However, nowadays, there are many university courses taught online. That is more comfortable for students who have to travel for going to classes or for adults that want to study while they are working. Therefore, online teaching can become a mean to give to a greater part of people access to university.
As a final point, I want to put my attention on the quality of education. I believe that we are in front of the struggle between what is better among quantity and quality. If on one hand it is true that online taught courses are more accessible for everyone, on the other hand we should yearn for a high and optimum education level.
To sum up, after all factors being taken into consideration, we may easily reach the conclusion that the advantages of the traditional teaching process surpass its disadvantages.
