Technology make children more creative
Nowadays, technology has become more and more important for our lives. Some people might say that technology has made children less creative, but I think it has made children more creative.
First, technology enables kids to access great art works thought out the world easily. Now, we can see many of the pictures of Picasso easily on the Internet from your house and listen to the music of Mozart with ease by using streaming services even when you walk on the streets. These great works inspire children’s imagination and nurture their creativities. Some might say that accessing someone else’s arts could reduce children’s creativities, but I think that all creative works begin when people mimic someone else’s work. I heard that Mr. Maekawa, who is one of the most famous painters in Japan, has established his particular art style through mimicking the Picasso’s style and he learned Picasso’s style on the Internet. This example evidently shows technology strengthen children’s creativities.
Second, technology can be a platform for children to express their creativity. They can draw their painting using computer graphics technology, or make and play their music by using virtual musical instruments on the computer. For instance, my favorite artist is Ms. Yokohama, who is one of the greatest graphic artists in Japan. Her artwork is fascinating and I feel as if I were in another world when I see her work. The technology of computer graphics definitely makes it possible for her to create this great work. If there weren’t such technologies, she had to use brushes and canvases, and her painting couldn’t be such a great thing. As this example shows, there is no doubt that technology help children express her imagination.
In summary, I disagree with the statement that technology has made children less creative. It not only enables children can access greats arts, which inspires them but also can be a platform for them to express their imagination. I think we should encourage children to use these technologies.
