Some people believe that growing up in the countryside is more fulfilling for children than in a big city. However, I definitely disagree with this idea. I feel this way for main two reasons, which I will explore in the following essay.
First and foremost, big cities are likely to have better school. Basically, entering good high school leads to prestigious university, and what's more, to good career in society. My own experience is a compelling example of this. When I was a child, I used to live in Osaka, the second biggest city in Japan, and Tokyo, the capital of Japan. I would often go to a private high school, which is quite rare in a rural area. Thanks to my high school, I was able to enroll in Kyoto University, the second smartest university in Japan, and successfully proceeded to my career. Now I'm working for the best infrastructure company in the energy area in Japan. Had I lived in a countryside, and not attended a private school, I would not have had a successful career. As the example above demonstrates, living in big cities have more possibility to follow good career.
Secondly, big cities usually have more opportunities than countries, which enables us to live more fulfilling life. In this day and age, more and more people are rushing to get together in a city, and there are more facilities opening there. My own personal history is proof of this. I am currently living in Hitachi city, located in the northern part of Tokyo, a rural district. I notice more people moving to the south part of my prefecture, a city district. In addition, I realize no new shops are opening except for living space for senior citizens. By contrast, when I lived in Tokyo three years ago, more and more shops, such as movie theaters, sushi restaurants, and gorgeous skyscrapers, were rushing to build. Children were likely to get in touch with latest facilities and were able to proceed to their understanding of modernization and industrialization. Had I not have much experience of living in a city, I would not enjoyed my life so much and noticed the superiority of the world created by human beings. As the example above demonstrates, we can enjoy our life more by living in a city.
Therefore, I completely disagree with this idea.Read more
