Thanks to the improvement of the technology, we now have various types of communication. We utilize telephone calls, letters, or email depending on the situation. All have their advantages and disadvantages. People nowadays tend to rely much on email because it is easy and convenient. However, I strongly believe that meeting face-to-face is the best way of all. I have several reasons to support my opinion.
First and foremost, faces, which people who meet actually watch convey a lot of important information. By watching others’ face, we can speculate how they feel, whether they are in good health, or what happened to them. For instance, when I met an old friend of mine from junior high school last year, he seemed to be unhappy and not healthy since he looked gloomy and meager in the face. Assuming that he was in trouble, I gave some advice to him. He said the other day that the advice was very helpful. If we talked over the telephone or email, I might not be able to help him like this way.
Second, face-to-face communication is faster than any other forms. They take long time so I don’t think they are efficient. For example, because telephone calls convey only vocal information, we cannot pass some images or make others touch something. By making use of email, we can exchange images; nevertheless we cannot present the information like the touch or the taste. However, if we were talking with our customer in direct, we could make them touch and feel the actual products. This might proceed communication easier and smoother.
In conclusion, I argue that meeting directly is the best policy in communicating efficiently and offering much information.
