As we know, classmates and parents both influence on a child’s success in school. Then who carry more weight than the other? As far as I am concerned, I believe classmates are a more important influence than parents on a child’s success in school. There are numerous reasons why I hold this opinion and I would explore a few primary ones here.

The main reason for my propensity is that people of the same age have no obstacles for communicating. They can understand each other well. So, when they meet troubles, they always talk it with each other and find ways to solve it. Take me for example, when I was in middle school and began to learn English, I find out that my parents could not help me in learning it. They know nothing about English. When I met with difficulties, I turned to my classmates and discussed with them. I got a lot from my classmates and in the end I became one of the best students in grasping English.

What is also worth noticing fact is that classmates create the environment for the child to grow. If all his classmates study hard, is he willing to fall behind? So, it is his classmates who help the child to be strict with himself and be successful. However, parents could only create a good atmosphere at home. This is insufficient and less important.

In a word, classmates create the atmosphere that leads the child to success. Taking into account of all these factors, we may reach the conclusion that classmates are a more important influence than parents on a child’s success in school.
