A countryside life is generally considered to be peaceful and and at times much better as compared to that in a big city. The society is percieved to be much more closely knit and people are in general nicer in a countryside. So life in a contry side may provide a nice loving and free environment for a child. Despite these reasons I feel that it is better for children to grow up in a big city.

A big city life in general is considered to be very hectic and chaotic with not so friendly people and a mad rush everywhere. But a big city is also an economic and cultural epicenter for its neighbourhood. New trends, ideas and technology are first recieved and implemented in a big city. Therefore a child who is brought up in a big city tends to be much more well informed and well equipped in these facets than the one brought up in countryside.

A big city life is more competitive and in general a child brought in such enviorment tends to be much more advance. He is able to handle stressful situations much better and is more likely to succeed in his life rhather than a child brought up in a countryside who has not been through such situations and may breakdown in the face of a competitive and stressful situation.

Also some people may argue that the time and space pressures in a big city may inhibit the natural growth of a child brought up there. These problems may be tackled with specialised entertainment and sports facilities available in almost all the big cities. Also time pressures faced in big city generally makes a child more efficient and punctual then his countryside broughtup counterpart.

In conclusion, I think that even if there are a lot of pressures on a child living in a big city which threaten to inhibit his natural growth, still a child brought up there is much more competitive, well informed and better equipped to tackle life in a long run than a child broughtup in countryside.
