A city should preserve its old and tradition. Nowadays many cities destroy tradition to build modern cities. It might be one of ways to live conveniently. But I worry about such a situation because of the following reasons.
First, the tradition is very important for us. There are many places which are thriving but there are few places to keep the old and tradition. Therefore, people are usually attracted by such traditional cities. As a matter of fact, in my country Japan, many people visit cities to see the culture which has a lot of history like Kyoto. Tradition makes people relax.
Second, We succeeded to the tradition from ancestor. If the traditional towns are destroyed once, they are not gotten back again. Therefore, we need to consider the worth trying to destroy them. And in most of cases, it is not worth enough. We need to give the tradition to new generations.
Third, the old cities have a lot of knowledge. Temples and ruins are good teaching materials to know history of the regions. For example, how did people live then? Why did people build them? We can learn a lot of things through them.
It is easy to destroy the tradition but the sacrifice is huge. We will not be able to see them again when they are destroyed. Traditions belong to not only the cities but also the world. Therefore, we must not destroy them only the reason we want to live conveniently.
